We're not quite sure which band was kicked off of the Hollywood Rocks Tour... it was either Bullet Boys or Black & Blue, but what we are sure of is that Pretty Suicide was asked to fill their slot at the Wreck Room this Sunday, November 9th @ 8pm!! Don't miss your chance to see LA Guns & Pretty Suicide on one of Jersey's best stages!! The Wreck Room is located at 551 Main Avenue in Wallington, NJ.

And now Courtney's Halloween Weekend Reflections...

If you rememeber our stories from Cruefest this past August, you can imagine the new ones we have now after playing with The Erotics this past Friday night!Y Mike Trash puts any party over the top, and his band (the Erotics) were the perfect headliner for a Halloween Bash... Decked out in Motley Crue and Sumo Wrestling Regalia, they were the perfect headliner to send us into our all-night afterparty with the South Mouth clan,Ya couple bottles of vodka, late nite pizza, and the local Quality Inn. Fitting 8 people and all our gear into one little car was quite a trick, but it made the trek up to Albany worth the while. And we have it all on video!! After Saturday's hangover cures, we were up bright and early for Sunday's NYC Marathon... Simply Awesome.Y We could not have asked for a better day.YThe sun was shining, everybody was happy, and we played forever!Y We met alot of new fans, and have already received alot of cool pics from the event. Needless to say, Monday was a day of rest and relaxation, but we are gearing up for two big events next week: Pretty Suicide & LA Guns at the Wreck Room on Sunday, and the release party for New York City Rock N Roll at Don Hill's next Wednesday (November 12th).Y Armand is particularly excited about the Wreck Room, cause LA Guns is one of his favorite bands, so if you don't think he's energetic enough yet, just wait until Sunday!!

Received a copy of the new coffee-table must have for all rock readers, Gigs from Hell: True Stories from Rock and Roll's Frontline in the mail yesterday & have gotta say that from just a quick browse, found it pretty damn funny & frighteningly relatable. It's nice to see our tale of woe in print alongside so many others we know and be reminded of what a small world it really is -our German friends Shameless are featured as well.

In other slightly belated news, this past weekend marked the beginning of our month long tour of duty at the Forest of Fear... Can't believe it's October already, but we're happy to be back in Tuxedo!!We want to thank Konash Productions for their awesome lights and sound, and give shouts out to all the kids who've seen us out there before - we love you!!! We also want to thank Konash for their cool after-party (huge drive-in movie setup, the campfire, etc.); it made the weekend complete... too bad the cops shut us down before we could really get the party started. Once we smooth things over with the authorities, though, we'll get the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre...

Playing with Metal Shop last night at The Village Pub was a great way to end an awesome week in which we gained a strong new foothold in Philadelphia, played to lots of friendly and familiar faces at the Brew Pub, & witnessed a new induction ceremony to the Pretty Suicide Cowbell Junkies that you've just got to see to believe... Metal Shop was laugh-out-loud hilarious from start to finish, and near the end of their set (as always seems to be the case when we open for out-of-towners) they brought Courtney up on stage to sing a song; this time it was the classic "Sweet Child O' Mine". Big thanks go out to Ralph, Scott, & Stacey X of The Tour Bus for such a great night & we'll be taking you up on the offer to stop by the studio really soon!

9/19/03 News
Just a reminder... This Sunday's Pretty Suicide show at the Village Pub in Port Jefferson will be broadcast live on the nationally syndicated Tour Bus Radio!! So be sure to come on down & make some serious noise!! In other news, Pretty Suicide graces the cover of this month's Aural Fix Communique and is featured inside with a live review by Kathy Fleischmann & a Suicide Sampler disc review by Mike SOS that goes like this...

Pretty Suicide is one of the hardest working bands in the underground NYC rock scene, and the latest batch of tunes from the female-fronted quartet echo the maturation. Hard rock is usually dismissed as a passing fancy, yet Pretty Suicide's infectious melodies and sultry baby-girl vocal delivery make the four-song sampler a sought-after commodity. Somewhere between Faster Pussycat and No Doubt lie Pretty Suicide, whose cover of the Kiss gem "Tomorrow" caps off another fine display of hard rock done right.

Shouts out to Long Island for embracing us so warmly!!

The band performed a surprise NYC gig at everyone's favorite rock & roll strip club, The Pussycat Lounge, for kicks last Friday night & to scope out the place to see what it's gonna be like when we play M.E.A.N.Y. Fest there on Friday, September 26th. We're happy to report that the renovations are a knock-out and that the sound system is killer. We had a great time playing there & also saw some great sets by Jones Crusher and Alowicious. In other news, tonite we're finally going back to the studio to mix "Do You Want It?" so Suicide Shot should be ready by the end of the month.

9/3/03 News
Thanks to all who came out to Bottoms Up! in Astoria last Saturday!! We were scared that the turn-out would be a little light because of the holiday weekend, but we were thrilled to see the number of fans who made it out... some new, and several other friendly faces we hadn't seen in awhile. Thank you very much & it was great to have you back! We'll definitely be playing the club again... any club that allows girls to dance on the top of the bar is cool by us.

8/22/03 News     Armand's Cruefest Reflections...

"All in the Name of Rock"

Holy Shit what a great fucking party! I stayed home Wednesday night and practiced the 15 Motley Crue songs I agreed to play with the Motley Crue tribute band until 1AM. I didn't want to let any Crue fans down, and I knew that my performance had to be the best. So instead of heading to Ohio Wednesday night like I had hoped, I decided to sacrifice one night of partying with the Cruefest gang and dedicate it to learning those Crue songs I promised Angi, Matt, and all of Cruefest I would know.

Me and Vache got to a late start on Thursday morning. We packed my car with all of our gear and clothes, careful not to leave anything behind, made a last second on the road stop at O'DiBella Music to pick up some last minute guitar gear and by 11:30 we were on Rt.80 West headed for Cleveland.

Around 4:30 PM my sister calls my cell phone and informs me that a huge blackout had struck a lot of northeastern cities and Cleveland was hit hard. Vache and I scrambled for news stations to get some details and quickly called Larry and Courtney who were travelling from Detriot to Cleveland at that exact same time.

Around 6:30 we get off the highway at the correct exit, and realize that neither me nor Vache knew the name of the hotel we were supposed to go to. All we knew was that it was off exit 235. So we pull into the first hotel we see, a Clarion, I was driving to the front office to ask if this was the hotel hosting Cruefest when I spotted three people I have never seen before outside in the parking lot. I immediately pulled into the nearest parking space and ordered Vache out of the car. He looked at me puzzled, "Wow do you know this is the right hotel?" , he asked. I pointed to the people in the parking lot and told him, "See those guys over there, they are Cruefest people, and if they aren't, they will be soon." Sure enough, they were Cruefest people. And one of those guys ended up being James from Love Toyz.

Armand stories are long, too long, and I can go on about every little detail that no one cares to read about, so I'll just skip ahead to what Cruefest weekend was really about.

I learned a lot at Cruefest. I realized that no matter how badly I fuck up playing a Motley Crue song on the drums, people will still raise their fists in the air, bang their heads, and shout at the top of their lungs! No seriously, doing Cruefest was the most fun I have ever had in this band in one weekend, ever. Hands down. And the best part was that we got to raise money for children's cancer research. That means we weren't just partying until 7:00 in the morning for the sake of getting drunk with hopes of getting laid.

Sunday morning I realized something when I had to say my "goodbyes"to my new friends. Saying goodbye really hurt. I saw it hurt not just me, but everyone I was saying goodbye to. As I looked everyone in the eyes, and hugged them, I felt pain. Everyone went to eat breakfast at Bob Evan's Sunday morning and me and Vache couldn't participate because we were running late to a very good friend's Christening. We were torn, and never before had I wished so badly that I could be in two places at the same time. The drive back to New Jersey was a lonely one. I felt like I had forgotten something behind. It was somewhere on Rt. 80 that I realized I was leaving behind my family, these weren't just friends we met for a weekend like at a high school prom; and that is why it hurt so much.

I have a talking Stitch doll that talks back to you, and when you say "Ohana", Stitch answers, "Ohana means Family, and Family means no one gets left behind. . . or forgotten." Of all the people I have met, no group has ever known the meaning of "Ohana" better than the people at NS Cruefest. From the moment I met each person, there was this unspoken concept of family, which formed the basis of everyone's actions. The whole weekend, nobody was ever left behind and no one was ever forgotten, and that is the only way I can explain the Northshore Cruefest.

Cruefest is something that has to be experienced to be understood.

8/19/03 News     Courtney's Cruefest Reflections...

I know how to have a good time in the dark, but the guys & gals at Cruefest knew how to do it better... The all-inclusive three day party that took place in Cleveland was one for the books. I had a friend drive down from Michigan, thinking that he was just coming down to see a show, but instead he got a full-on rock n' roll experience. Thanks to Angi & Cat for putting it all together, even down to the lightening that struck in order to get the party started right. Never have I met a group of people and felt so comfortable so immediately, and never have I seen a group of people so willing to be loud, obnoxious, drunk, and obscene with such a great sense of humor. There were rooms and rooms of people wandering the hallways, drinking case after case of bud, wrestling, singing, and causing general havoc. I heard someone tried to brush his teeth with a razor in the middle of the night, not realizing it wasn't his toothbrush... Oh- and a shout out to Angi again, for arguing every night in the hallway with the management, who were trying their best to try to break up the party... Too bad for them. To all the guys that got naked for all us girls, to Rockstar for keeping everyone so wired, and to Mike Trash for just being so cool- Thanks. Thanks also to Armand for wearing a wig and red lipstick, it totally put the icing on the cake... And thanks to the thirty people that danced, sang, and shared the stage with us for our entire last set- I finally got to call the set list, cause, well, I just couldn't see the rest of my band, so I figured what the hell. I am looking forward to it again next year... and we will definitely be back to Cleveland sometime soon. Thanks to everyone for making it all just so damn fun. See you soon!!

Attention All Who Call Cleveland Home!!
Pretty Suicide has been added to the playlist at Cleveland's WRUW so be sure to tune in at 91.1FM!! And if they don't play Pretty Suicide as much as you'd like, or hell, even if they do, call 'em up @ (216) 368-2208 & request to hear Pretty Suicide some more!!

8/18/03 News    It's true... Cleveland ROCKS!!

The band just got back from a phenomenal party-filled weekend at the Northshore Cruefest in Cleveland, OH. Yeah, we didn't have power on Thursday night, but that sure as hell didn't stop all from having an incredible time... Once the power kicked back in on Friday and all were armed with huge amounts of Rockstar & Jagermeister it was time to seriously Rock & Roll! We've gotta say that EVERYONE (aside from the hotel security & housekeeping staff) we met was friendly beyond belief. It was a complete blast for an even greater cause & we're happy to report that we'll be back next year for Cruefest 2004!! We haven't even had a chance to go through our photos yet, but here is an enormous batch taken & already uploaded to quualudes.com by Scott (thank you very much!) Shouts out & Ten Seconds of Love to All!! We'll have much more on the trip uploaded soon...

8/11/03 News    It's a Sunshine Day!!

Where do we start? Thanks to all who came down to RARE in NYC last Friday. You helped make it an incredible & completely rejuvenating set for us. We were glad to be a part of Frank Wood's last hurrah at the club and with a night like that, he can honestly say he went out on TOP! Saturday night in Suffern got off to a late start & the state smoking ban ain't exactly helping this business of music, but as always the brewery was a blast. The band is more united than ever & more than a little determined to have nothin' but a good time from here on out. The new DVD is almost done, a live disc is on the way, Suicide Shot is coming along nicely, a Pretty Suicide tale will be published in the Sleazegrinder's coffeetable must-have Gigs from Hell by Headpress Books in October, the Steve Blush compilation New York City Rock-N-Roll is due out in November, & there are more than a few aces still up our collective sleeves. This week we're road trippin' out west for a non-stop Rock & Roll Party w/ the Brothers Minassian getting auctioned off on Thursday, Pretty Suicide headlining on Friday with a 90 minute set, & Armand doin' his best Leather-Studded, Stick-Tossin' Tommy Lee on Saturday. Cleveland Rocks, but it's never rocked quite this hard...

We went to Woody's Bar & Grill House out in Clifton last Friday to put up some posters & check out what the place is like since we're playing our first show there this Friday the 25th. After being there for less than five minutes somebody came up to us and asked to be added to our mailing list, which was of course, incredibly cool. Turns out he had seen us out in Port Jefferson at The Village Pub and his band, Rock Candy (an 80's cover band), was playing later that night so we wound up staying much later than we thought we would (till closing) & had an incredible time. The band rocked & the entire crowd was really into it. I'm happy to report that Woody's looks like it's gonna be a great venue for us & the most obvious place to compare it to would have to be the Ramapo Valley Brewery. They've got good food, incredibly cheap beer ($6 pitchers!), an outdoor garden area with pool tables, & a completely party-filled atmosphere. Not only that, but in between bands the only disc they played that night was Smashes, Thrashes, & Hits by Kiss. It looks like we've found yet another home-away-from for Pretty Suicide!!

Two great shows this weekend... The audience at Club Culture was incredible and reminded us of why we started to do this whole "Rock & Roll" thing in the first place. We played 2 totally adrenalized sets to an amazingly enthusiastic fist-pumping crowd & the really big news... The first-ever female "Cowboy Junkie" was officially inducted!! Congratulations Jessie, your membership card will be on the way soon. The next night we returned to one of our favorite places, John & Peter's in New Hope, PA. We played for over 3 hours & got treated to an amazing cowbell performance by Heather who we'd like to thank for being such a great sport!

7/11/03 News

Someone is now telling a multitude of bands that Pretty Suicide says they all suck, we hate them, etc. & supposedly because of this all of these bands will boycott any venues that we play. We don't know whether or not this person is again impersonating us to tell the bands this information, or if this person is just doing it outright. Either way, if any bands are reading this, we are not doing this & we deeply apologize for whatever is said by this person. If you are contacted by email, Pretty Suicide has the following email accounts: prettysuicide@hotmail.com, armandminassian@hotmail.com, hotvache@hotmail.com, & courtneysemonick@hotmail.com -that is it. If you receive an email supposedly from Pretty Suicide & it didn't come from one of those accounts, it didn't come from us! I know this all seems ridiculous, but this person clearly wants to damage our reputation and name in every way possible. Again, we apologize...
